World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)
Why it Matters?
India hosted the second WADA Intelligence & Investigations Workshop 2025 in New Delhi to strengthen global anti-doping collaboration and capacity building.
What You Should Know?
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) was established on 10 November 1999 to promote and coordinate the global fight against doping in sport.
It was created with strong support from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to address the health and ethical threats posed by doping in sports.
The WADA Foundation Board includes representatives from both the Olympic Movement (IOC, NOCs, IFs, athletes) and governments from all five continents.
WADA’s headquarters is located in Montreal, Canada, with regional offices established on other continents to support its global operations.
The agency works independently to unite public authorities and the Olympic Movement in enforcing anti-doping rules and awareness campaigns.
