What You Should Know?
SLINEX is the Sri Lanka–India Naval Exercise, a bilateral naval drill.
SLINEX was conceptualised in 2005.
The 12th edition (SLINEX-25) concluded on 18 August 2025 off Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The 11th edition was held at Visakhapatnam, December 2024.
Indian Navy participated with INS Jyoti (tanker-class) and INS Rana (destroyer-class).
Sri Lanka participated with SLNS Vijayabahu, SLNS Sayura, and SLAF Bell 412 helicopter.
The exercise had harbor and sea phases.
SLINEX enhances interoperability, operational readiness, and maritime cooperation.
It aligns with India’s MAHASAGAR policy (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions).
