Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) – 2018
It was launched on 24th April 2018 ‘National Panchayat Day’.
It is Implemented by Ministry of Panchayati Raj as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme.
Its objective is to develop governance capabilities of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).
It focuses on capacity building, infrastructure support, e-governance, participatory planning.
It covers all States and UTs including non-Part IX areas. Special emphasis is on PESA areas, Aspirational Districts, and Mission Antyodaya clusters.
Revamped Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (Post-2026) aims to strengthen PRIs for achieving Viksit Bharat @ 2047, focus on capacity building for local governance reforms.
Its emphasis is on strengthening digital governance platforms in PRIs.
