The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment will celebrate 5 years of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) on 8 August 2025 with a Raksha Bandhan event at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre. NMBA, active in all districts, has sensitized over 18 crore people, trained 20,000+ volunteers, and promotes a drug-free lifestyle.
What You Should Know?
The Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) is implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment for drug demand reduction.
It was launched on 15 August 2020 and operates in all districts of India.
The aim is to create awareness about the ill-effects of substance abuse with focus on youth, educational institutions, and communities.
All de-addiction facilities in India have been geo-tagged for public access.
The NMBA Mobile App (Google Play Store) enables real-time activity data collection.
The NMBA Dashboard provides district, state, and national level data.
The NMBA website (nmba.dosje.gov.in) offers e-pledge, discussion forums, and activity tracking.
MoUs have been signed with spiritual and social service organizations such as Art of Living, Brahma Kumaris, Sant Nirankari Mission, and ISKCON.
