International Conference of Young Buddhist Scholars
Why it matters?
The International Buddhist Confederation will host the 3rd International Conference of Young Buddhist Scholars on 22 August 2025 in New Delhi, supported by the Ministry of Culture. The event will discuss Ashoka’s role in spreading Dhamma, Guru–Shishya knowledge transfer, gender and digital access, and the role of academic and monastic institutions.

International Buddhist Confederation (IBC)
It is a global Buddhist umbrella organization headquartered in New Delhi.
It was established in 2011 with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
The organization promotes Buddhist values, cultural exchange, interfaith dialogue, and preservation of Buddhist heritage.
Its membership includes national Buddhist organizations, monasteries, academic institutions from over 39 countries.
Major events organized by IBC include the Global Buddhist Summit, Asian Buddhist Conference, and the International Conference of Young Buddhist Scholars (ICYBS).
IBC plays a key role in India’s cultural diplomacy by positioning the country as “Dhamma Setu” connecting Buddhist nations and global communities.
The IBC works in the preservation of Buddhist texts and languages, including the promotion of Pali as a classical language.
International Conference of Young Buddhist Scholars (ICYBS)
The International Conference of Young Buddhist Scholars (ICYBS) is an annual event organized by the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), New Delhi.
It aims to strengthen the role of youth in preserving and promoting Buddha Dhamma globally.
Supported by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and Dr. Ambedkar International Centre.
The 3rd ICYBS will be held on 22 August 2025 at Nalanda Hall, Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi.
This year theme is Wisdom Transmission in Buddha Dhamma in the 21st Century.
