The Environment Ministry has approved translocation of eight tigers from Tadoba and Pench to Sahyadri Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra, to revive its population.

Tadoba Tiger Reserve (Maharashtra)
Tadoba Tiger Reserve is located in Chandrapur district, Maharashtra.
It was formed in 1995 by merging Tadoba National Park and Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary.
It is the oldest and largest tiger reserve in Maharashtra.
The reserve consists mainly of dry deciduous forests, with teak being the dominant tree species.
Pench Tiger Reserve (Maharashtra–Madhya Pradesh)
Pench Tiger Reserve is named after the Pench River and spans parts of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
Pench is part of the Central Indian Tiger Landscape.
It is connected to Kanha and Tadoba through wildlife corridors.
Sahyadri Tiger Reserve (Maharashtra, Western Ghats)
It is located in the Western Ghats, a global biodiversity hotspot.
It was created in 2010 by merging Chandoli National Park and Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary.
Its forests are evergreen and moist deciduous with about 1,400 plant species.
