Key Health Indicators:
The Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) has decreased to 25 deaths per 1,000 live births in 2023, down from 44 in 2011.
The Under-Five Mortality Rate (U5MR) is estimated at 29 deaths per 1,000 live births in 2023.
The national birth rate has declined to 18.4 per 1,000 population in 2023.
Education and Development:
The school dropout rate at the secondary level has significantly decreased from 13.8% in 2022-23 to 8.2% in 2024-25.
Gender parity in education has been achieved at the national level across all stages, with the Gender Parity Index (GPI) at the secondary level being the highest at 1.1.
Child Protection:
The percentage of women aged 20-24 married before the age of 18 has reduced from 26.8% in 2015-16 to 23.3% in 2019-21.
The total number of children adopted in the country increased to 4,515 in 2024-25 from 3,927 in 2017-18.
