PM SHRI
Context: PM SHRI is a centrally sponsored scheme to upgrade select existing schools into NEP-aligned model institutions, but has seen implementation hurdles in states like Kerala due to concerns over Centre-state control.

Centre's share: ₹18,128 crore
States' share: 40% of the project cost
► Coverage: Applicable to schools from primary to higher secondary; As of now, 12,400 schools across 670 districts have been selected
