National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA)
Context:
As per the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs 2025 Year-End Review, 20 State/UT Legislatures are now fully live on the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA).
This marks a significant advance in paperless legislative functioning across India.
About NeVA:
NeVA is a Mission Mode Project (MMP) designed to transform all Legislative Houses in India into Digital Houses.
It operates on the principle of 'One Nation - One Application', enabling Legislatures to transact their entire government business on a digital platform.
The primary goal is to make legislative functioning paperless, transparent, and efficient, ensuring seamless information exchange between the Legislature and State Government Departments.
Key Features:
The application follows a "Cloud First and Mobile First" philosophy to serve members effectively.
NeVA is Unicode-compliant software providing access to documents (like List of Questions, Business, and Reports) in both English and regional languages.
It incorporates Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) to create a robust IT product.
The project includes technical and financial provisions for digitizing legacy data, making it easily searchable for members and citizens via the mobile app and website.
