What you should know?
The Lal Bahadur Shastri Dam, also known as Almatti Dam is a hydroelectric project on the Krishna River in North Karnataka.
The dam also supplies potable water to nearby areas and contributes to flood management.
Yadahalli Chinkara Wildlife Sanctuary is located adjacent to it.
The Ghataprabha River flows in the southern part of the sanctuary, while the Krishna River flows in the northern part.
