ECINET
Context: In a major initiative, the Election Commission of India is developing a new user-friendly digital interface for the electors and its other stakeholders such as the election officials, political parties, and the civil society. The new one-stop platform, ECINET, will integrate and reorient over 40 of ECI’s existing mobile and web applications.
Important Pointers:

► Purpose: Simplify access to electoral services with an improved UI/UX; a single-point platform for all stakeholders.
► Launched by: Conceptualized by CEC Shri Gyanesh Kumar during the March 2025 CEO Conference, with Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi.
► Features: Desktop & mobile compatible; Data entry only by authorized officials; Statutory forms override digital data in case of conflict.
► Key Apps Integrated: Includes Voter Helpline App, Voter Turnout App, cVIGIL, Suvidha 2.0, ESMS, Saksham, KYC App — over 5.5 crore downloads
► Legal Foundation: Representation of People Act, 1950 & 1951; Registration of Electoral Rules, 1960; Conduct of Election Rules, 1961; ECI instructions from time to time.
