Why In News:
The 3rd Bharat CPSEs' Consultative Conclave 2026, jointly organised by Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) and the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), concluded with a focus on infrastructure, logistics and capacity building for Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), in support of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.

PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan
PM GatiShakti National Master Plan: Launched in October 2021, it is a ₹100 lakh crore infrastructure initiative aimed at coordinated development over a five-year period.
Approach: The plan promotes integrated and multimodal infrastructure development across seven key sectors—railways, roads, ports, waterways, airports, mass transport, and logistics, supported by energy, IT, water, and social infrastructure.
Objective:
To reduce logistics costs through better coordination and planning.
To function as a digital backbone, linking macro-level planning with micro-level execution.
To integrate existing initiatives like Bharatmala, Sagarmala, and UDAN, while improving connectivity to economic zones and enhancing business competitiveness.
Key Features:
Geospatial Data Platform: A centralized portal integrating 200+ layers of spatial data, enabling comprehensive visualization of infrastructure assets.
Economic Hubs: Focus on textile clusters, pharmaceutical hubs, defence corridors, and agricultural zones to boost productivity.
Technology-Driven Planning: Utilises advanced spatial tools and satellite imagery (via BISAG-N and ISRO) for data-driven decision-making.
About Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya
Located in Vadodara, Gujarat, it was upgraded into a full-fledged university by an Act of Parliament in 2022, evolving from the earlier National Rail and Transportation Institute.
Its mandate is to build specialised human resource capacity for India's multimodal transportation and logistics sector, directly supporting the objectives of PM Gati Shakti.
