What is the New Campaign?
The abhiyan builds on the wider Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA).

Nodal ministry is the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports; brings together MY Bharat, educational institutions, NSS, NYKS, civil society and industry bodies.
The Umbrella Framework
National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) is the umbrella policy under which NMBA operates, focusing on prevention, awareness, early identification, counselling, treatment and rehabilitation.
Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA): Launched on 15 August 2020 by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, the programme seeks to combat substance abuse through awareness and outreach, especially in schools, colleges, and universities.
It focuses on identifying individuals with substance dependence and strengthening counselling, rehabilitation, and treatment infrastructure.
Initially implemented in 272 identified vulnerable districts, it has now been expanded nationwide.
Strategy: The initiative follows a three-pronged approach- Supply reduction, Demand reduction and Treatment and rehabilitation.
