The International Monetary Fund (IMF) released its July 2026 World Economic Outlook (WEO) Update.

Key Numbers from the Update

Global growth: retained at 3.0% for 2026, expected to rebound to 3.4% in 2027.

India: growth forecast cut slightly to 6.4% for 2026, but the 2027 forecast raised to 6.7%, keeping India among the world's fastest-growing major economies, supported by resilient private consumption and services activity.

Other economies: United States 2.3%, Euro area 0.9%, Japan 0.6%, with China revised up to around 4.6% for 2026.

Emerging market and developing economies as a group saw growth trimmed to 3.8% for 2026.
