Many students understand an explanation while the teacher is solving a question but struggle when the values, diagram or wording changes. That usually means the idea has been recognised but not yet converted into an independent problem-solving method. More passive reading rarely fixes this gap; students need a sequence that moves from understanding to retrieval and then to timed application.
Use a three-layer learning method
Concept layer: explain the law, quantity or relationship in your own words and connect it to a diagram, graph or physical situation.
Standard-question layer: solve representative NCERT-level and NEET-pattern examples without looking at the completed solution.
Timed-application layer: mix questions from nearby chapters so that you must identify the correct principle before calculating.
Follow a class-to-test cycle every day
